
Rosemary Jane (Thompson) Palmer
Palmer Rosemary Jane age 95 of Minneapolis (formerly of St. Mark’s Parish in St. Paul). Born in Buhl, MN on the Iron Range. She died on March 26, 2021 during Last Rites with family present. Preceded in death by first husband, Marshall Day Smith who died on the Battle of the Bulge; and husband, Theodore C. Palmer who served in the Coast Guard during WWII. Also preceded in death by grandson, Kyle Palmer. Survived by daughter, Michele Smith (Dennis) and twins, Carol Palmer (Boyd, deceased) and Theodore T. Palmer (Beth) and grandchildren Owen Hawkins, Rikka, and Paula Quinanola.
Rosemary spent many years at the U of M Laboratory of Physiological Hygiene (now Epidemiology) where she enjoyed working on the “Children’s Study.” She loved to read, travel, stay up on current events, and play bridge. She was very adept at arts and crafts. She loved her summertime spent at Upper Whitefish lake. A service date is yet to be determined. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Catholic Eldercare in NE Minneapolis.
