
Polar Plunge a splash at Park Point
The event raises money for Special Olympics Minnesota.
DULUTH, Minn./February 15, 2025—Nearly 700 people spent a mid-February Saturday making a splash at Park Point for the annual Duluth Polar Bear Plunge.
The event, which is in its 23rd year, raises money to support Special Olympics Minnesota.

The first jumpers made their splashes at 2 p.m., as air temperatures were in the teens. The water temperature in Duluth was just above 33 degrees, according to the website seatemperature.info.

A total of 679 jumpers helped raise $142,550 as of Saturday evening, exceeding the 2024 total of $142,003. According to the event’s website, participants have raised $2,867,374 in its 23-year history.
