New deputies to be sworn in, recent promotions recognized
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office will hold a swearing-in ceremony Wednesday, January 29, at 3 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 2030 Arlington Avenue, Duluth. Six new deputies and 14 correctional officers will take an oath to serve and be sworn in. An additional support staff, four deputies, and jail sergeant will be recognized for recent promotions and 22 new civilian staff, and a K-9 will be recognized.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for all law enforcement activity in the unincorporated areas of St. Louis County, as well as several cities. Sheriff’s deputies operate out of regional offices in Duluth, Virginia, and Hibbing, with additional stations in Cook, Ely, Rice Lake, and Mountain Iron.
