Budget Transparency & Historic Mine Tour Project presentations given to City

Tower MN – The second regular City meeting on March 22^nd at 5:30 included an informative walk through of the CLEARGOV.com software being considered by the City. The budget management suite is easy to use and navigate with an abundance of graphics that help explain budget numbers in a user-friendly manner. The company specifically caters to smaller cities with limited staff that often field questions and doubts about the transparency of what their local government is actually doing with taxpayer funds. This format allows not only the public to easily the information but also gives elected officials better understanding of their financials especially those who are unfamiliar with more complex government fund accounting. No action was taken yet on the three subscriber options presented in the agenda packet which ranged from 7-15 thousand dollars.
