Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Lee Kerber
Elizabeth “Betty” Lee Kerber, 94, of Lafayette, passed away on October 28, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 17, 1930 to the late Homer and Mary (Loy) Spring. Betty graduated from Delphi High School in 1948. She married Richard Kerber on December, 26, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Logansport with Monsignor Alchinger officiating. Betty and Dick were married for 70 years, he preceded her in death on October 3, 2024.
Betty loved being a housewife and mother. She made many quilts for her family. When the girls were raised, she spent ten years selling insurance for Aflac. When Dick retired, they spent summers in their log cottage with family and friends.
They had three daughters; Karla (Gale) Pitner, Marilee Kerber, and Kelly Wagner all of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Nathan (Amy) Pitner, Amanda (Joe) Schroeder, Robin (Paul) Wyant, Nicholas Fields, Christian (Chelsea) Wagner, and Caleb Wagner; Great Grandchildren, Isaac and Eli Pitner, Maddison and Mallory Wyant, Max and Ben Schroeder; and Great-Great Granddaughter, Stella.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents and her brother, William Spring.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 10:30 to 11:30 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette with Father Rick Nagel officiating. Rite of interment will take place at a later date at St. Boniface Cemetery.
