Chimpy’s Skating Parties are back!

Chimpy’s Skating Parties are back!

SOUDAN—Last year’s winter was, shall we say, a non-winter sloppy mess? But it’s back to normal this year.

Of course, as we all know in our neck of the woods, “normal” is the average of extremes. Last year it was an extremely warm winter, and if the last couple weeks is any indicator, this year promises to be at the other extreme—cold!

But it’s never too cold for ice skating, and there is no better way for the community to get together and have fun skating than at Chimpy’s Skating parties.

Get ready to lace up those skates and head over to the Soudan rink for good old fashioned wintertime fun!  Jim “Chimpy” Tuominen will again be hosting skating parties throughout the winter.

The first two events will be on Saturday, January 11th from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Don’t own a pair of skates? No problem, skates of all sizes are available at no charge.

This year’s skate parties are underwritten once again by the Joint Powers board, so there will be plenty of goodies. The grill will be fired up for free warm food including pizza, burgers, and hotdogs, along with chips, cookies, pop, water, and floats.

These skating parties are enjoyed by young and old alike, so round up the family and come on over to the Soudan playground for a good skate!
