
Bus crash injures two students in Cook
COOK, Minn.—Law enforcement is investigating a one-vehicle crash with injuries involving a St. Louis County Schools bus Wednesday morning near the North Woods school in Cook.
At approximately 8:12 a.m. on January 29, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, along with local EMS and fire departments, received a report of a single school bus accident on Olsen Road East near the North Woods School in Cook, according to a news release from the St. Louis County Sheriff Office.
The school bus slid off the roadway and struck two trees and came to rest against a light pole that was not knocked down, according to law enforcement.

Two students were transported to a local hospital to be treated for what was reported as non-life threatening injuries.
“Our thoughts are with those who were injured today,” Sheriff Gordon Ramsay wrote in an email.
In addition to the driver, there were 31 students aboard the bus at the time of the crash.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said icy conditions were believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
School officials have been working with and notifying parents in this matter.
The incident remains under investigation and by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Minnesota State Patrol.
