‘Hang out with MNAAC and help us flood crisis pregnancy center Google pages with reviews,’ the Minnesota-based group said in an email.

MN Abortion Action Committee (MNAAC) recently held an event to leave fake negative reviews of local pregnancy resource centers, calling the event a “Crisis Pregnancy Center Review-a-Thon”, an email obtained by Alpha News states.
“Hang out with MNAAC and help us flood crisis pregnancy center Google pages with reviews that expose them for the manipulative, anti-abortion facilities that they are,” the email reads.
The email explains that snacks were provided and “laptops encouraged” while attendees watched a movie and review-bombed local pregnancy resource centers, which often provide free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and other support services for women facing unexpected pregnancies.
One of the events was held April 12, a Facebook event listing says, and the results of the fake reviews can be seen across local pregnancy centers’ Google Maps listings.

One reviewer, named Belle, appears to have created a Google profile for the express purpose of leaving bad reviews for pregnancy resource centers. Over the past four months, Belle has left six negative reviews on various clinics, three of which appear to have been posted as part of the “Review-a-Thon” on April 12.
“Please know that First Care does not refer for or provide abortions. They are not unbiased and will actively try to persuade you against abortion,” the review Belle wrote on the First Care Pregnancy Center’s listing says. The clinic responded to one of the reviews, stating that it had received an influx of negative reviews “from people who haven’t used our services.”
“We had a great time at our sip & surf, leaving google reviews to let people know the truth about predatory Crisis Pregnancy Centers!” MNAAC recently posted on Instagram.
During the event the group also collected donations for an organization called Our Justice, which funds abortions and has a Plan B hotline with a Minnesota area code.
MNAAC is also planning to protest at Abria Pregnancy Resources’ annual Life Is Wonderful 10K, 5K, Walk & Fun Run at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, which includes a “Kids Fun Run.”
“Join us bright and early on May 10 to say: Minneapolis doesn’t run with pro-lifers! Abortion is healthcare!” MNAAC wrote in an Instagram post.
Pregnancy resource centers have been under attack in Minnesota ever since Attorney General Keith Ellison issued a “consumer alert” about the organizations in 2022. His alert cited a lone report written by abortion advocates as justification for the action.
Minnesota lawmakers recently debated returning funding to local pregnancy resource centers, after the funding was cut in 2023 by Democratic lawmakers. During the debate, Rep. Leigh Finke, DFL-St. Paul, said that the centers are “part of an extremist, patriarchal, right-wing religious agenda.”
A bill advocating for the restoration of funds failed on a partisan vote in March.
